چکیده
We have enhanced a computational cognitive agent by embodying it with real and simulated bodies operating in real and simulated worlds. This has allowed us to experiment with various ways that embodiment in-uences the creation and meaning of the agent's beliefs and other terms in its knowledge base, including: symbol-grounding by perception and action; rst-person privileged knowledge; the representation and use of indexicals; having a personal sense of time; and low-level bodily awareness.

Socially Assistive Robotic Music Therapist for Maintaining Attention of Older Adults with Cognitive Impairments
This paper presents a hypothesis-testing preliminary study that aims to develop affordable customized socially assistive robotics (SAR) tools that can help to provide cognitive care to users suffering from cognitive changes related to aging and/or Alzheimer’s disease.
متن کاملTowards a Scientific Foundation for Engineering Cognitive Systems
For more than ten years, beginning in the early 2000s, the European Commission has been supporting targeted research in the fields of Cognitive Systems and Robotics. In this note we discuss the rationale of the underlying research agenda (including its relevance to the BICA challenge), structure the large set of funded projects, and outline perspectives for future research.

Using a Socially Assistive Robot in Gait Recovery and Training for Individuals with Cognitive Impairments
This paper describes a new methodology for gait training and recovery for people in midand late-stage dementia. A combination of social and rhythmic auditory cues is used to express the robot’s behavior. Specifically, the described research develops and evaluates a method for on-line adaptation aimed at both personalizing the therapy process and maximizing its health-related outcomes. This nove...
